I came to teaching late, after working as a waiter, and 16 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I had 580 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Ake
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

You taught me geography in 2000 at Phuket Primary School. I still remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard. Truly.

You taught me geography in 2013 at Phuket Primary School. I still remember the cold winter when we all kept our coats on.
