I taught geography and environmental science at Fukuoka Academy, Fukuoka. I never once raised my voice.
Over the years I had 1,150 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Akari
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Akari: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
