Ahmed Aziz
Master of thatching, now teaching apprentices
- 🇪🇬 Cairo, Cairo, Egypt
- Old Holy Cross Shop
- Since 1993
- English
I've worked in thatching since 1993. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 1,550 apprentices.
I can still tell good work from rushed work from across the street. I'm learning the guitar.
More about Ahmed
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Ahmed: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
