I taught music and biology at Pioneer Middle School, Rawalpindi. I never turned anyone away.
Outside the classroom I garden badly but happily. Inside it, I never turned anyone away.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Afshan
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
What gifts mean to Afshan: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
