I taught geography at Beacon Middle School in Cluj-Napoca from 1989 to 2005. Most days I taught teenagers, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Over the years I had 830 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
