Abubakar Sani Odukoya
Hockey and fitness coach, Ibadan
- 🇳🇬 Ibadan, Oyo, Nigeria
- Ibadan Youth Club
- Since 2007
- English, Igbo
I've coached hockey at Ibadan Youth Club since 2007. Most of my players were between 10 and 15, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Abubakar
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Abubakar: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.

You coached me in 2011. I still hear your voice on the sideline. Greetings from Surrey.
