Abril E. Álvarez

Youth martial arts coach and mentor

  • 🇲🇽 León, Guanajuato, Mexico
  • León Swimming Club
  • 1991 to 2019
  • Spanish
I coached martial arts at León Swimming Club from 1991 to 2019. Most of my players were between 9 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life. Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I walk the dog by the river. I'm still learning every day.

What gifts mean to Abril: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
