I served ten years in the navy and was discharged in 2024 with a back injury. I have been waiting fourteen months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment. The quote I have comes to $750.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $750 goes:
• Training provider fees: $240
• Housing deposit and first month: $320
• Transport to appointments: $100
• Essential household items: $90
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

I hope things turn around soon. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Stay strong, Zalak. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I went through something like this 5 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care
