I live with multiple sclerosis. My occupational therapist at the Tokyo Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a communication tablet with eye tracking. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $3,550.
My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $3,550 goes:
• communication tablet with eye tracking: $2,900
• Fitting and training sessions: $280
• Delivery and set-up: $110
• First-year servicing plan: $260

wishing Yumi a smooth procedure and a full recovery. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
