Yonas needs my tuk-tuk repaired to get back to work in Jimma

Without my tuk-tuk Yonas can't work; a $150 repair would put him back on the road.

I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 12 weeks ago the fuel pump failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $150. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal. Where the $150 goes: • fuel pump replacement (parts): $80 • Labor charges: $20 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $20 • Towing and inspection: $30 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

  • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Yonas.

    • The list at the bottom is the whole picture. fuel pump replacement (parts) is the biggest at $80. I'll keep the page updated.

  • Good luck, Yonas. Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected!
