I live with profound hearing loss. My occupational therapist at Colombo General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $150. My current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 6 weeks. With the right equipment I could join the school sports day. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $150 goes: • Fitting and training sessions: $40 • Delivery and set-up: $10 • First-year servicing plan: $100 Thanks for being kind about this.

  • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Yashodha

    • It's all in the list in the story. fitting and training sessions is the big one at $40, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Good question.
