I'm 91 and I have lived in this house in Johannesburg for 46 years. After the storm in August, two large branches and a fallen fence have blocked the back door and the garden path. I can no longer manage them myself because of arthritis. The council has told me it will be ten weeks before they can send someone. I'd feel much safer if it were cleared sooner. Help needed: a small team to cut, stack and carry away branches. I'll provide tea, sandwiches and the green waste bags. A few hours will do. Thank you for reading my story.

  • Thinking of you, Xolani. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Love from Mar del Plata.

    • Hope it all works out. This could happen to any of us. Love from Sacramento.

      • Good luck, Xolani. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Please keep us posted. Take care.

        • Rooting for you, Xolani. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Bornova.

          • Keep going, Xolani. Your post was clear and honest. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
