Xia needs an espresso machine and grinder to reopen a roadside café
A roadside café in Los Angeles needs help replacing an espresso machine and grinder after a break-in.
🇺🇸 Los Angeles, California, United States2,641 views
For six years I have run a roadside café in Los Angeles. In August, a break-in took an espresso machine and grinder. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Friday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 12 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $3,350 goes:
• Replacing an espresso machine and grinder: $2,200
• Initial stock: coffee and pastries: $330
• Shop repairs and licensing: $450
• Working capital for the first month: $370
Thanks for being kind about this.

take care, Xia. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up.
This could happen to any of us. I have a 5 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Greetings from Mumbai.
So sorry you're going through this. Shared it with a few friends. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Los Angeles.
Rooting for you, Xia. This could happen to any of us. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Blessings.
I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Nashik
