Wunmi served six years; now needs help to get home
A navy veteran in Bonny needs help with a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment after leaving service with a back injury.

I served six years in the navy and was discharged in 2023 with a back injury. I have been waiting eleven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment. The quote I have comes to $300.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $300 goes:
• Transport to appointments: $30
• Training provider fees: $180
• Essential household items: $90
Thank you so much.

So sorry you're going through this, Wunmi. Shared it with a few friends. Put this on a community board in Lagos this morning.
Thinking of you, Wunmi. This could happen to any of us. Love from Moscow
Gave what I could, wish it was more. I have a 5 year old who wants to send good wishes too. All the best!
Best of luck, Wunmi. Shared this with my family. God bless.
