Work-permit appeal: Sharmin needs $2,800 before the deadline
Sharmin needs $2,800 for filing fees and representation in a work-permit appeal before the October deadline.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom1,602 views
Sharmin is facing a work-permit appeal. The hearing is scheduled for October, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $2,800. Three legal-aid offices have said their waiting lists are longer than the deadline.
Sharmin has all the paperwork ready, and a caseworker at a local immigrant rights clinic has confirmed that the case is valid.
If the deadline is missed Sharmin could lose the right to stay with the family and the job. The children were born here and this is the only home they know.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $2,800 goes:
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $80
• Filing and biometrics fees: $740
• Attorney retainer: $1,980
With deep gratitude,
Sohel

Hope it all works out, Sohel. This could happen to any of us. Greetings from Negombo.
Thinking of you and your family. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. God bless.
