Work-permit appeal: Frank needs $3,850 before the deadline
Frank needs $3,850 for filing fees and representation in a work-permit appeal before the April deadline.
🇦🇺 Australia372 views
Frank is facing a work-permit appeal. The hearing is scheduled for April, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $3,850. Three legal-aid offices have said their waiting lists are longer than the deadline.
Frank has all the paperwork ready, and a caseworker at the Townsville Community Legal Centre has confirmed that the case is valid.
If the deadline is missed Frank could lose the right to stay with the family and the job. The children were born here and this is the only home they know.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $3,850 goes:
• Attorney retainer: $3,000
• Filing and biometrics fees: $530
• Certified translations and document copies: $105
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $215
