I coordinate donations at Pioneer Women's Shelter in Oakland. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in Oakland, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Pioneer Women's Shelter on Thursday between 9am and 4pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the Pioneer Women's Shelter clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

- Exactly what I needed
I can't speak highly enough about this helper. They were available when I needed them, supportive when I felt lost, and practical in their solutions.

Hang in there. Hope this works out for you. I'm in logistics myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Mumbai.
Sending love, Joshua. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I'll check back for the next update.
thinking of you and your family, Joshua. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Please keep us posted.
wishing you peace, Joshua. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home!
