I coordinate donations at the Lotus Family Centre in Mumbai. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes toddler through teen. If you're in Mumbai, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Lotus Family Centre on Friday between 11am and 2pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Lotus Family Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Put this on a community board in Tiruchirappalli this morning.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Put this on a community board in Abuja this morning. Greetings from Abuja.
Hang in there, Lakshmi. Your post was clear and honest. I'm in teaching myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Take care.
Sending strength. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care
Thinking of you and your family, Lakshmi. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Nagpur
