I live with a rare neuromuscular condition. My occupational therapist at the Los Angeles Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $600. My current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 6 weeks. With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $600 goes: • Delivery and set-up: $220 • First-year servicing plan: $195 • Fitting and training sessions: $185 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
