Help keep a free food pantry open for students and shift workers in Uberlândia.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Saturday from the back of a community center. We started with 21 families, and now we feed 215 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 35% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 8 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Uberlândia market and keep every receipt.
Each $15 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $800 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $300
• Baby formula and diapers: $200
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $300
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Henrique
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. fresh vegetables and fruit comes first ($300) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Let me know if you want more detail.
Sending good thoughts. Shared this with my family. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Uberlândia.
Great idea, hope you get there. I have a 7 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Blessings.
Hang in there, Henrique. I hope things turn around soon
Hang in there, Henrique. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Take care
Best of luck, Henrique. Hope this works out for you.
