Weekly meals for students and shift workers in Thủ Đức
Hải runs a volunteer pantry feeding 171 families; this fund restocks shelves for the winter.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Wednesday from the back of a community center. We started with 10 families, and now we feed 171 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 55% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Thủ Đức market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $400 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $155
• Baby formula and diapers: $80
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $165
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Praying for you, Hải. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We're a small family in Ho but we're thinking of you.
how is Hải doing now?
Hope it all works out, Hải. Your post was clear and honest. God bless.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Hải
Sure. The biggest one is rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale), $155. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Good question.
shared this with my family. We're a small family in Yogyakarta but we're thinking of you. All the best.
Thanks for sharing this, Hải. Hope this works out for you. We're a small family in Jakarta Selatan but we're thinking of you. All the best.
Hang in there. Shared this with my family. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.
Praying for you. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. God bless
you're not alone. Your post was clear and honest. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Thinking of you. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of Thủ Đức!
