Weekly meals for students and shift workers in Seoul
The the Harvest Pantry pantry in Seoul is running low just as demand rises; $1,850 will stock it for 10 weeks.
🇰🇷 Seoul, South Korea883 views
Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Tuesday from the back of a community center. We started with 30 families, and now we feed 71 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 55% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 12 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Seoul market and keep every receipt.
Each $35 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $1,850 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,100
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $330
• Baby formula and diapers: $310
• Refrigeration and electricity: $110
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Hope things get better soon, Min-ji. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.
