Weekly meals for students and shift workers in Santa Rosa
Patricia runs a volunteer pantry feeding 104 families; this fund restocks shelves for the summer.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Saturday from the back of a community center. We started with 17 families, and now we feed 104 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 60% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 8 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Santa Rosa market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $450 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $135
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $210
• Baby formula and diapers: $45
• Refrigeration and electricity: $60
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
Updates from Patricia
Quick update: $464 raised so far (103%). we've started the first stage. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
Wanted to say thank you properly. 61% funded and I made the first payment toward fresh vegetables and fruit.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($185 in total) the plan for refrigeration and electricity is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
