The Community Pantry pantry in San Diego is running low just as demand rises; $3,050 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Tuesday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 18 families, and now we feed 155 each week. Donations have dropped by about 34% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the San Diego market and keep every receipt. Each $45 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $3,050 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $2,100 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $390 • Baby formula and diapers: $560 I hope life is good to you. - Evelyn
