Weekly meals for students and shift workers in Muzaffarpur
Kamrul runs a volunteer pantry feeding 255 families; this fund restocks shelves for the school holidays.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Sunday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 10 families, and now we feed 255 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 57% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Muzaffarpur market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $500 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $280
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $95
• Baby formula and diapers: $60
• Refrigeration and electricity: $65
