Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Wednesday from the back of a community center. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 232 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 57% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Mansoura market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $200 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $40
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $105
• Baby formula and diapers: $55
Thanks for reading all this.

The support I received was beyond what I expected. Not only did they help with the immediate need, but they also provided guidance for long-term solutions. I'm forever grateful.
