Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Sunday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 14 families, and now we feed 183 each week. Donations have dropped by about 60% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Makati market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $650 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $360 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $200 • Baby formula and diapers: $75 • Refrigeration and electricity: $15 Thanks for reading all this. - Rey

Updates from Rey

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($335 in total) I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  • Hope things get better soon. Great idea, hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.

    • Sending good thoughts, Rey. This could happen to any of us. I went through something like this 5 years ago and strangers helped me out.

      • Sending love, Rey. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I hope April is when things finally get easier. God bless.
