Weekly meals for students and shift workers in Laval
Help keep a free food pantry open for students and shift workers in Laval.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Sunday from the back of a community center. We started with 18 families, and now we feed 106 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 43% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Laval market and keep every receipt.
Each $45 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $3,050 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,800
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $800
• Baby formula and diapers: $190
• Refrigeration and electricity: $260
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
Updates from Ramesh
Small update. $956 so far, I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts.
68% there. the plan for rice, beans, flour and oil is now scheduled. Thank you.

praying for you. Hope this works out for you. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Thinking of Laval
Keep going, Ramesh. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Laval.
Take care. More neighborhoods should do this. Sent it to 27 people at work. Love from Bornova.
Thinking of you and your family, Ramesh. Hope you get there. Please keep us posted.
Thinking of you and your family, Ramesh. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out.
Rooting for you, Ramesh. More neighborhoods should do this. Thinking of Laval.
