Weekly meals for students and shift workers in Halifax
The the Harvest Pantry pantry in Halifax is running low just as demand rises; $3,000 will stock it for 7 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Wednesday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 18 families, and now we feed 119 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 47% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 10 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Halifax market and keep every receipt.
Each $35 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $3,000 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,400
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,100
• Baby formula and diapers: $500
