Guarulhos

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Friday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 16 families, and now we feed 164 each week. Donations have dropped by about 55% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 16 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Guarulhos market and keep every receipt. Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $1,050 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $480 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $360 • Baby formula and diapers: $110 • Refrigeration and electricity: $100 Thanks for being kind about this. - Francisca

Updates from Francisca

Update from Guarulhos: the plan for fresh vegetables and fruit is now scheduled. We're at 24% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
Thank you all. We're at 17% now ($183). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward refrigeration and electricity.
Wanted to say thank you properly. 9% funded and I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts.
