Weekly meals for students and shift workers in Guadalupe
Help keep a free food pantry open for students and shift workers in Guadalupe.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Wednesday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 30 families, and now we feed 157 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 52% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Guadalupe market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $570
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $270
• Baby formula and diapers: $75
• Refrigeration and electricity: $85
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

You're not alone, Elena. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer.
Thanks for sharing this, Elena. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of Guadalupe.
Great idea, hope you get there. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from Fresno
