Coventry

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Monday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 8 families, and now we feed 90 each week. Donations have dropped by about 42% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 10 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Coventry market and keep every receipt. Each $25 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $2,450 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $990 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $760 • Baby formula and diapers: $390 • Refrigeration and electricity: $310 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Maja

Updates from Maja

Update from Coventry: I made the first payment toward fresh vegetables and fruit. We're at 5% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us. - Maja
4% there. I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts. Thank you.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($50 in total) the plan for refrigeration and electricity is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
