Help keep a free food pantry open for students and shift workers in Chiang Mai.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Wednesday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 9 families, and now we feed 108 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 37% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 12 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Chiang Mai market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $450 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $40
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $330
• Baby formula and diapers: $80
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Rooting for you. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Blessings
how is Jitra doing now?
you're not alone, Jitra. Great idea, hope you get there. I'll check back for the next update. God bless.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Jitra.
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. refrigeration and electricity is the biggest at $40. Fair thing to want to know.
hang in there, Jitra. Shared it with a few friends. After 13 years in teaching I know how hard it is to ask for anything.
Is there anything that isn't money that would help Jitra?
Thanks for sharing this, Jitra. Shared it with a few friends. All the best.
Take care, Jitra. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I'm in social work myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Take care.
Rooting for you, Jitra. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too!
Take care. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My husband and I read this together.
your post was clear and honest. Wish I lived closer to Jakarta Barat so I could bring a meal.
Keep going. Your post was clear and honest. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Chiang Mai
Hang in there, Jitra. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. All the best
