Weekly meals for students and shift workers in Charlotte
Kaylee runs a volunteer pantry feeding 326 families; this fund restocks shelves for the harvest gap.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Friday from the back of a community center. We started with 23 families, and now we feed 326 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 46% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 12 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Charlotte market and keep every receipt.
Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $310
• Refrigeration and electricity: $155
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $985
I hope life is good to you.

Thanks for sharing this, Kaylee. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected!
