Weekly meals for students and shift workers in Brasília
Help keep a free food pantry open for students and shift workers in Brasília.
🇧🇷 Brasília, Distrito Federal, Brazil1,124 views
Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Saturday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 19 families, and now we feed 104 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 39% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Brasília market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $550
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $240
• Baby formula and diapers: $220
• Refrigeration and electricity: $140
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Take care, Daniela. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Love from Townsville.
Take care, Daniela. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I hope June is when things finally get easier. God bless.
Praying for you, Daniela. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Take care!
