Weekly meals for students and shift workers in Bornova
The Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry in Bornova is running low just as demand rises; $700 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Monday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 13 families, and now we feed 224 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 38% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Bornova market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $700 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $360
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $200
• Refrigeration and electricity: $140
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Thank you. If you're in Bornova I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks, that means a lot.

How is Kerem doing now?
You're not alone, Kerem. Looking forward to the next update. My neighbor in Iztapalapa donated after I showed her your page.
Stay strong, Kerem. More neighborhoods should do this. God bless
rooting for you, Kerem. Hope this works out for you. Please keep us posted. All the best.
Best of luck, Kerem. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Envigado.
