Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Sunday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 16 families, and now we feed 192 each week. Donations have dropped by about 54% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Bakersfield market and keep every receipt. Each $60 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $1,800 goes: • Refrigeration and electricity: $400 • Baby formula and diapers: $570 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $830 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

  • Hang in there, Lourdes. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.

    • Best of luck, Lourdes. I hope things turn around soon. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust

      • You're not alone, Lourdes. This could happen to any of us. Love from Bhaktapur.
