Badagry
Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Tuesday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 8 families, and now we feed 180 each week. Donations have dropped by about 60% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 12 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Badagry market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $450 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $230 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $110 • Baby formula and diapers: $80 • Refrigeration and electricity: $30 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Adaeze

  • best of luck, Adaeze. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My husband and I read this together. God bless.

    • Keep going, Adaeze. Looking forward to the next update. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
