Weekly meals for students and shift workers in Accra
The the Harvest Pantry pantry in Accra is running low just as demand rises; $400 will stock it for 10 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Sunday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 202 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 48% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Accra market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $400 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $185
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $150
• Baby formula and diapers: $35
• Refrigeration and electricity: $30
