Weekly meals for students and shift workers in Abuja
Temitope runs a volunteer pantry feeding 68 families; this fund restocks shelves for the rainy season.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Saturday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 68 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 42% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Abuja market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $400 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $165
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $130
• Baby formula and diapers: $55
• Refrigeration and electricity: $50
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
