Weekly meals for neighbors in need in Takoradi
Janet runs a volunteer pantry feeding 348 families; this fund restocks shelves for the summer.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Wednesday from the back of a community center. We started with 9 families, and now we feed 348 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 37% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Takoradi market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $450 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $280
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $55
• Baby formula and diapers: $70
• Refrigeration and electricity: $45
