The the Second Helping pantry in Taguig is running low just as demand rises; $350 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Taguig
Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Tuesday from the back of a community center. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 400 each week. Donations have dropped by about 45% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 7 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Taguig market and keep every receipt. Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $350 goes: • Baby formula and diapers: $90 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $185 • Refrigeration and electricity: $75 Glad we found this place.

Updates from Miguel

  1. Thank you all. We're at 17% now ($59). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts.

  • Praying for you, Miguel. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Poitiers.
