Weekly meals for neighbors in need in San Diego
Jack runs a volunteer pantry feeding 193 families; this fund restocks shelves for the school holidays.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Saturday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 24 families, and now we feed 193 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 33% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the San Diego market and keep every receipt.
Each $40 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $3,800 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,850
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,500
• Baby formula and diapers: $230
• Refrigeration and electricity: $220
