Weekly meals for neighbors in need in San Cristóbal de las Casas
The the Harvest Pantry pantry in San Cristóbal de las Casas is running low just as demand rises; $1,000 will stock it for 10 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Tuesday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 29 families, and now we feed 244 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 53% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the San Cristóbal de las Casas market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $630
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $230
• Baby formula and diapers: $90
• Refrigeration and electricity: $50
