Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Tuesday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 353 each week. Donations have dropped by about 37% this summer, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Peshawar market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $350 goes: • Refrigeration and electricity: $40 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $160 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $150 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Uzma

Updates from Uzma

  1. Quick update: $40 raised so far (11%). the plan for refrigeration and electricity is now scheduled. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Small update. $15 so far, I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts.

  • best of luck. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Athens.
