Weekly meals for neighbors in need in Medan
The Neighbors' Pantry pantry in Medan is running low just as demand rises; $300 will stock it for 6 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Saturday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 13 families, and now we feed 372 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 49% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 10 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Medan market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $300 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $70
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $195
• Refrigeration and electricity: $35
Thanks for reading all this.
