Weekly meals for neighbors in need in Guadalajara
The Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry in Guadalajara is running low just as demand rises; $600 will stock it for 10 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Friday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 16 families, and now we feed 135 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 57% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Guadalajara market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $600 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $220
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $175
• Baby formula and diapers: $110
• Refrigeration and electricity: $95
