Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Monday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 386 each week. Donations have dropped by about 33% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Buenos Aires market and keep every receipt. Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $350 goes: β€’ Baby formula and diapers: $105 β€’ Refrigeration and electricity: $65 β€’ Fresh vegetables and fruit: $180 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
