Weekly meals for neighbors in need in Birmingham
Santiago runs a volunteer pantry feeding 149 families; this fund restocks shelves for the rainy season.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Wednesday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 13 families, and now we feed 149 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 57% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Birmingham market and keep every receipt.
Each $45 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $290
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $340
• Baby formula and diapers: $370

Gave what I could, wish it was more. My neighbor in Los Angeles donated after I showed her your page. All the best
