The Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry in St. Louis is running low just as demand rises; $2,300 will stock it for 7 weeks.

St. Louis
Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Sunday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 30 families, and now we feed 234 each week. Donations have dropped by about 54% this summer, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 10 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the St. Louis market and keep every receipt. Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $2,300 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,650 • Refrigeration and electricity: $350 • Baby formula and diapers: $300 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Ji-min
